Purpose & Overview

This Anishinaabek Wiidosendiwak Law is HIFN’s future Child and Family Wellbeing Law being developed under Bill C-92. The Law will be grounded in Anishinaabe values and teachings, with the aim of reclaiming HIFN’s inherent jurisdiction over child and family services. The Law will establish a community-driven system that honours families, strengthens prevention, and ensures children grow up surrounded by culture, belonging, and care, guided by our people, for our people.
