Supporting Henvey Inlet’s Children and Families
Anishinaabek Wiidosendiwak means “the people walking together.” It is a community-driven initiative that reflects the vision Henvey Inlet First Nation (HIFN) has for the health and wellbeing of our children and families.
Our Mission and Goal
Our mission is to build a child and family wellbeing Law and process to keep our children safe, strong, and connected to their Anishinaabe identity. Our goal is to help HIFN reclaim inherent jurisdiction over the care and protection of HIFN’s children and families.
About the Law
HIFN has begun the journey to develop our own Child and Family Wellbeing Law, under Bill C-92. The Law will reflect our community’s values and our responsibility to protect and support HIFN children and families.
About the Organization
Anishinaabek Wiidosendiwak is the name of the Law and also the name of the new organization we’re building to provide child and family wellbeing services for HIFN.
